"Jenny's Little Project"
Did you know that there are over 3200 hospices in the United States - and that does not count in-home hospice care? Did you know there are over 5800 hospitals in the United States?
After a valiant three-year battle, my beautiful niece Jenny (left) spent the last few days of her life at a hospice in New Port Richey, Florida. Jenny's mother, my sister Kathy Ekleberry Schmick, and I were talking on the phone a few weeks after her memorial service and decided that though Jenny's life was way too short (at 45 years) that we would just have to think up some "little Jenny project" to honor her amazing and passionate spirit - to keep her generosity, love of life, and compassion active. It's also a way to make her experience into a positive "mission".
Kathy and I decided that we would (eventually) provide spiritual artwork to every hospice and hospital in the United States. Below, you can see the choices of artwork we are delivering or mailing to every hospice and hospital in the United States.
"Believe" is a painting that Kathy and I made together - even though she lives in Florida and I live in Nevada. We wanted to make a painting that included all color ribbons. We just kept sending it back and forth until we decided it was done. This is the fine art print we deliver or ship to most hospices and hospitals.
"Miraculous Light ~ Our Lady of Guadalupe" is a painting with all color ribbons I painted a few years ago. It is the fine art print we donate to Catholic Hospitals and Catholic Hospices.
Perhaps after we finish with hospices and hospitals in the United States - we will start delivering internationally. I'm just not sure we will ever finish "Jenny's Little Project" - and that's perfectly fine.
Contact me or Kathy if you would like us to send one of our fine art prints to a particular Hospital or Hospice - especially in memory of a friend or a member of your family.
With love,
Renee
You may also donate to "Jenny's Little Project" (below). We are currently setting up the 501(c) (3) organization status so that in the future you may write off your donation on your taxes. Thank you to those who already have generously supported this project - amazing!
